Henry Frederick William Tarnow
is my first Tarno ancestor to come to America. He was born 27 November 1818 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. Henry is the son of Joachim Jacob Daniel TARNOW born 14 SEP 1782 in Mecklenburg, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany and Agneta Dorothea Elisabeth CRULL born 28 OCT 1788 in Mecklenburg, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.

As far as I know Henry only had one sibling, Agnes Dorothea Sophia TARNOW born 25 DEC 1815 in Rostock, Germany.
Henry Tarnow and Nancy Sheffield were married 26 August 1855 in Jefferson County, MO. Their children are:

Henry applied for American citizenship on 31 March 1849 in St. Louis, MO. and became a citizen 20 April 1860 in St. Louis, Missouri.

The National Parks have a Henry Tarnow listed as having served in the Union army 144th Regiment, Illinois Infantry (1 year, 1864-65).
